UnitingSA
Christmas Appeal

Share a little kindness this Christmas

Many in our community will be unable to experience the ‘simple joys’ of Christmas this year, let alone have their basic needs met.

With your help, UnitingSA is hoping to make a difference to these local families and individuals experiencing financial hardship through our annual Christmas Appeal.

Last year we were able to raise nearly $30,000 to ensure locals in need had a meal, or could access food basics on Christmas day. We also distributed gifts to over 400 children who otherwise would have gone without.

This is an astounding impact, and would not have been possible without the support of our community.

Our services usually expect a high demand for material and financial support over this Christmas period, however, due to the impacts of COVID-19 we are anticipating a much larger number of people seeking assistance this year.

If you are able to, please donate to our Christmas Appeal today and show someone who is struggling that there are people who care.

How can I help?

Funds raised will go towards purchasing supermarket vouchers for those experiencing financial hardship, so that they may purchase food basics and/or enjoy a decent meal on Christmas day. There are many ways to make a tax-deductible donation to our campaign:

  • Make a secure donation online. You’re able to make a once-off donation or set up a regular, monthly donation to provide ongoing support.
  • Call our friendly team on: (08) 8440 2200
  • Send a cheque payable along with your contact details to: UnitingSA, 70 Dale St, Port Adelaide, SA 5015

Can I make an in-kind donation?

In-kind donations such as gifts for children, non-perishable food items and toiletries can be delivered to our Emergency Relief Centre at 58 Dale St, Port Adelaide between 9am and 1.30pm, Monday to Friday. You can contact the centre on (08) 8440 2299. Remember to leave the gifts unwrapped so that parent/s or caregivers can choose a suitable gift and stocking fillers for their child from our wonderful ‘Toy Room’.

Please note that we are only accepting new, unused donations to keep our appeal COVID-Safe.

Nobody can do everything but everyone can do something.

UnitingSA relies on the generosity of donors to help deliver innovative programs and support for people in need across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

“I am so grateful I was able to move into a pet-friendly room at Regency Green Multicultural Aged Care. Whether I am going to a film or knitting or craft, my dog Bruce is always able to come. It really is wonderful.”
