All of us are being affected by COVID-19 in some way but many in our community will hold a heavier burden, long into the future.
At UnitingSA, we are responding rapidly to ensure we can continue to deliver critical services safely to those most in need.
Whether it’s someone who has lost their job, needs a safe place to call home, or who is struggling to pay their bills and feed their family, we will support them not only now but in the aftermath – when government payments cease and many remain unemployed, or underemployed, in an unstable economy.
We have one question – will you help us face this challenge?
Demand for our emergency assistance usually peaks during winter, however due to COVID-19 the demand has come earlier and we expect it to continue for longer.
We are also seeing people who have never needed support before but have fallen on tough times because of unforeseen circumstances brought on by the pandemic.
For this reason, we’re launching the COVID-19 Care Campaign in lieu of this year’s Winter Appeal.
Funds raised through the campaign will support those doing it tough amid COVID-19, including the many casual employees, migrants and young people who are expected to miss out on government stimulus packages.
To help ensure we can provide these individuals and families with vital food items, personal hygiene products, clothing and other necessities, we are seeking monetary donations to put towards vouchers for those in need.
If you are able to, please donate to our COVID-19 Care Campaign today and show your support for a fellow South Australian.
